Very Nice this
A Naval 12 Pounder . Royal Laboratories headstamp meaning it was made in England . 1940 stamps on the case and plug . As used on Commonwealth warships . But also on Japanese in WW2 .... You probably know more about this rare bird than I do so study the photos and ask questions before purchasing .
As for Condition .... It was oxidised from storage and I gave it an Unltrasonic bath . Then a light hit with some 1000 grit wet and dry used wet . Another 10 minutes and it would be mint . But I have to leave something for you to do .
The plug has been partially wound out and I haven't touched it . So up to you what you want to do with it .
Research the markins and see that these are uncommon. Being a mixture of the old style and the new . Still being marked as both 12Pd and 12CWT .
This is sold as a Curio and not as a Reloadable Shell be sure you comply with your states laws before considering purchase . But in most Australian States these are considered to be Scrap metal in this form .
Again - Ask any questions before purchasing as we do not refund or exchange
We have a decent collection of large Artillery and Naval Shells out the back that are too large for us to ship prepaid with AusPost . These are available for sale so if you have a request please ask
