As best I can tell a Japanese Type 38 Field Gun Shell . But as I'm no expect on Japanese WW2 markings it's hard to tell 100% . But it measures up as one . As with most Japanese WW2 shells there is a higher than normal level of Copper in the brass alloy and during normal cleaning this tends to show through . I've been told it was because after 43' they were cut off from their supplies of Tin in the occupied areas of the Pacific . So the alloys were affected . I have areally rough late war that appears to be nearly pure copper which supports this .

But again I'm not an expert . Condition is OK and consistant with many Japanese shells we have had in the past . But it;s rarity makes up for the lower grade .

This is sold as a Curio and not as a reloadable shell . The purchaser is responsible for complying with any relevant laws in your State/Terriory . Postage is included
